NFL: N.Y. Jets 20, N.Y. Giants 12

EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J., Aug. 26 (UPI) -- Chad Pennington hit Leon Washington with a 79-yard TD pass on the first play Saturday as the New York Jets beat the New York Giants, 20-12, in preseason play.

Giants quarterback Eli Manning, playing without Plaxico Burress and Jeremy Shockey, completed 17-of-25 passes for 146 yards and a score. Brandon Jacobs gained 43 yards on 11 carries, and Anthony Mix caught seven passes for 45 yards and a touchdown.

Pennington had just 89 yards passing, on a 5-of-11 performance. Jets backup Kellen Clemens completed 6-of-8 passes for 122 yards and an interception, while leading two second-half scoring drives. Danny Ware gained 57 yards on 15 carries for the Jets.
