
PHOENIX, Aug. 26 (UPI) -- Conor Jackson hit a two-run homer Saturday night to help the Arizona Diamondbacks beat the Chicago Cubs, 3-1.
Jackson's 10th homer of the season came with two outs in the bottom of the fourth inning as Arizona never trailed.
Justin Upton had two hits, and his seventh-inning double produced the other run for the NL West-leading Diamondbacks, who have six wins in their last 10 games.
Winner Doug Davis (11-11) gave up an earned run and six hits in seven innings, with a walk and eight strikeouts.
Arizona closer Jose Valverde recorded his 39th save this season.
Chicago scored on a sixth-inning single by Aramis Ramirez. Matt Murton had three hits for the Cubs, who have lost two of three.
Losing pitcher Ted Lilly (13-7) surrendered two earned runs and four hits in six innings, with no walks and eight strikeouts.
