
PHILADELPHIA, Aug. 25 (UPI) -- Kevin Kouzmanoff and Terrmel Sledge hit solo homers in the top of the ninth Saturday night as the San Diego Padres edged Philadelphia, 4-3.
Kouzmanoff has 14 home runs this season, while Sledge has seven. Kouzmanoff’s blast gave San Diego a 3-2 lead.
The Padres also got solo homers from Mike Cameron and Milton Bradley -- who homered for the third time in two games. No San Diego player had more than one hit, but the Padres won their fourth game in a row.
The winner was reliever Heath Bell (6-4). Trevor Hoffman earned his 33rd save.
Philadelphia's Pat Burrell, Ryan Howard and Jayson Werth each drove in one run -- Burrell in the first with his 20th homer.
Burrell, Howard and Aaron Rowand each had two hits for the Phillies, who have dropped four straight.
The losing pitcher was Brett Myers (2-5).
