BALTIMORE, Aug. 23 (UPI) -- Boof Bonser allowed three hits over seven innings Thursday night in carrying the Minnesota Twins past Baltimore, 5-2.
Bonser (6-10) got the win courtesy of a four-run Minnesota eighth, during which the Twins benefited from three walks and two errors.
Steve Trachsel (6-8) fell victim to his own wildness and took the loss despite giving up only two runs on four hits on 7 1/3 innings.
Nick Punto started the Twins' big eighth inning with a bunt single and was sacrificed to second by Alexi Casilla. Jason Bartlett then walked and a wild pitch on ball four allowed Punto to go to third -- and he scored from there on Joe Mauer's ground out.
Torii Hunter was intentionally walked, putting runners on first and second. After they both advanced on a throwing error by catcher Ramon Hernandez, Justin Morneau walked to load the bases.
A fielding error by Miguel Tejada allowed one run to score and Jason Kubel doubled home two more.
