Chicago starter Jason Marquis allowed just one run by Dave Roberts on three hits over seven innings with five strikeouts. Scott Eyre (1-1), who pitched the bottom of the eighth for Chicago, earned the win. Ryan Dempster tossed a scoreless ninth to close it out.
