HOUSTON, Aug. 20 (UPI) -- Tim Redding hurled seven scoreless innings and Dmitri Young drilled a three-run homer Monday as the Washington Nationals shut out Houston 7-0.
Wily Mo Pena went 3-for-4, including a solo homer, and drove in two runs for Washington, which ended a four-game losing streak.
Redding (3-3) got his first road win since 2004. He scattered six hits while walking three.
Lance Berkman was 3-for-3 for the Astros. Craig Biggio singled for the 3,033rd hit of his career for Houston, which suffered its fourth loss in its last six games.
Houston starter Jason Jennings (2-9) took the loss, his eighth in nine decisions. The right-hander allowed six runs on seven hits, striking out six and walking two, over four innings.
