SEATTLE, Aug. 20 (UPI) -- Jose Guillen knocked in a season-high five runs Sunday afternoon to help the Seattle Mariners beat the Chicago White Sox, 11-5.
The veteran right-fielder hit a two-run homer in the first, a two-run single in the second and sacrifice fly in the fifth.
Seattle’s Adrian Beltre hit a solo homer in the first, while Ichiro Suzuki had three runs, three hits and two RBI. Yuniesky Betancourt had two hits and one RBI, and two others had two hits as the Mariners completed a three-game sweep.
Winner Felix Hernandez (9-6) gave up five runs -- four earned -- and 10 hits in 6 1/3 innings.
Chicago got two hits and two RBI from Jerry Owens, and one RBI each from three players. Josh Fields and Toby Hall also had two hits as the White Sox suffered their seventh straight loss.
Loser Jon Garland (8-9) was torched for 10 runs -- five earned -- and 10 hits in 2 2/3 innings.
