NFL: Detroit 23, Cleveland 20

CLEVELAND, Aug. 18 (UPI) -- Jon Kitna completed 12-of-16 passes for 137 yards and a touchdown Saturday, as the Detroit Lions edged the Cleveland Browns, 23-20, in preseason play.

T.J. Duckett ran nine times for 31 yards and a TD and Shaun McDonald made three catches for 47 yards and a touchdown for Detroit.

Brady Quinn, the high-profile rookie who stayed on the sideline in Cleveland's exhibition opener last week, made his debut with 9:20 remaining in the game. He finished 13-for-20 for 155 yards and two touchdowns, while starter Derek Anderson was 6-for-8 for 65 yards with an interception.

Jason Wright carried six times for 19 yards and a touchdown and Jerome Harrison made with six catches for 71 yards and a TD for Cleveland.
