SAN DIEGO, Aug. 16 (UPI) -- Ubaldo Jimenez teamed with three relievers to throw a three-hitter Wednesday, giving Colorado a 3-0 win over San Diego.
The Padres, out front in the National League wild card chase, had won their previous six home games.
Jimenez (2-2) gave up one hit over six innings, after which LaTroy Hawkins, Jorge Julio and Manny Corpas threw an inning each. Corpas earned his 10th save after giving up a hit and a walk in the ninth.
The game was scoreless into the seventh before Ian Stewart, pinch-hitting for Jimenez, put Colorado in front with a two-run single.
Kazuo Matsui singled in Jamey Carroll with the Rockies' third run in the ninth.
The loss went to Cla Meredith (4-6), who relieved Chris Young in the seventh and gave up the first two Colorado runs.
