TAMPA, Fla., Aug. 14 (UPI) -- Former World Wrestling Federation tag team champion Brian “Crush” Adams was found dead at his Florida home, The Tampa Tribune reported.
Known to fans as “Crush,” Adams, 44, was scheduled to join next month’s reunion of Demolition, with
partner Bill “Ax” Eadie.
“We had just talked about calling Brian about our reunion,” Eadie told the Tribune. “This is sad. I feel so sorry for his family. I am at a loss for words. I am never at a loss for words.”
Barry “Smash” Darsow also wrestled as part of Demolition.
Paramedics responding Monday to an emergency call at his Tampa home, found the 6-foot, 6-inch, 300-pound Adams unconscious and unresponsive in bed and he was pronounced dead at the scene, the Tribune said.
The death was under investigation Tuesday.
The Hawaii-born Adams, who boxed in the U.S. Air Force, also wrestled under the name Kona Crush for the former World Wrestling Entertainment, and was a member of the tag team Kronik, the newspaper said. Adams retired in 2003 because of a spinal injury.
