NEW YORK, Aug. 14 (UPI) -- New York Red Bulls forward Juan Pablo Angel, who had a goal and an assist last week, was selected the Major League Soccer player of the week.

His goal and assist in the Red Bulls’ 3-0 victory Saturday over Toronto FC gave him 10 goals and three assists on the season. He opened the scoring in the game by converting a pass from Clint Mathis. Early in the second half Angel set up a goal by Jozy Altidore.
