NFL: Seattle 24, San Diego 16

SAN DIEGO , Aug. 13 (UPI) -- Matt Hasselbeck and Seneca Wallace each threw for a TD Sunday night, as the Seattle Seahawks beat San Diego, 24-16, in a preseason game.

Hasselbeck was 4-for-5 for 65 yards. Wallace completed 17-of-25 passes for 191 yards and one interception.

Deion Branch and Ben Obomanu each caught a TD pass for the Seahawks.

Chargers running back LaDainian Tomlinson, last year’s NFL MVP, did not play in Norv Turner’s debut as Chargers head coach.

San Diego quarterback Philip Rivers connected on 5-of-7 for 71 yards and Billy Volek went 13-for-18 for 143 yards and one touchdown.

Seattle scored on its first possession when Hasselbeck found Branch for a 31-yard touchdown pass.

The Chargers made it 7-7 just before the half when Volek hit Malcolm Floyd with a 14-yard TD pass.

Nate Kaeding kicked field goals of 38, 27 and 50 yards for the Chargers, but the Seahawks put the game away in the fourth quarter with two TDs and a 36-yard Josh Brown field goal.

Wallace hooked up with Obomanu for a 17-yard TD and Marquis Weeks ran six yards for a score with less than two minutes to play.
