
OAKLAND, Calif., Aug. 12 (UPI) -- Daunte Culpepper completed 5-of-12 passes for 78 yards in his Raiders debut Saturday night, as Oakland beat Arizona, 27-23, in preseason action.
Josh McCown started at quarterback for Oakland, going 5-for-9 for 42 yards. Andrew Walter completed 8-of-11 for 50 yards for the Raiders, who have still not signed JaMarcus Russell -- the No. 1 pick in this year’s NFL Draft.
Adimchinobe Echemandu picked up 75 yards on 17 rushes for Oakland, and Dominic Rhodes -- who will miss the first four games of the regular season as he sits out a suspension -- ran for a TD for the Raiders.
Matt Leinart went 5-for-11 for 50 yards, and Kurt Warner was 2-for-2 for 73 yards and a touchdown for the Cardinals.
Edgerrin James gained just three yards on two carries for Arizona. Bryant Johnson caught three passes for 87 yards and a touchdown.
