
CINCINNATI, Aug. 12 (UPI) -- Khalil Green had four hits and three RBI Sunday, leading the San Diego Padres past the Cincinnati Reds 10-4.
San Diego’s Brian Giles drove in two runs with his second straight two-homer game.
Josh Bard also drove in two, while four other players had one RBI for the Padres, who won twice in the three-game series.
Winner Jake Peavy (13-5) surrendered four runs -- two earned -- and seven hits in 6 2/3 innings with a walk and five strikeouts. He improved to 7-0 this season against NL Central opponents.
Cincinnati’s Jose Valentin hit his seventh homer this season, a solo shot in the seventh. Three other Reds had one RBI. Norris Hopper and Scott Hatteberg had two hits each for the Reds, who have dropped three of four.
Loser Bronson Arroyo (5-13) gave up five earned runs on nine hits in six innings.
