San Diego won for the sixth time in nine games, thanks in part to a three-run homer by Adrian Gonzalez and three RBI from Khalil Green, including a solo blast.

Griffey is close to becoming the sixth player in major league history to hit 600 home runs. He led off the third inning with a shot to right.

Kevin Cameron (1-0) threw two innings to get his first win in the majors.

The loss went to David Weathers (2-4), who gave up a hit, three walks and four runs while retiring only two batters in the 11th.
