DENVER, Aug. 11 (UPI) -- Home runs by Matt Murton and Jacque Jones Friday night helped carry the Chicago Cubs to a 6-2 decision over Colorado.

The game was marred when Chicago's Jason Marquis hit Colorado first baseman Jeff Baker in the batting helmet with a pitch in the seventh. Baker's helmet came off and he collapsed at the plate. He was eventually diagnosed with a mild concussion and was taken to a local hospital for examination.

Marquis (9-7) was taken out of the game at that point, after having given up five hits.

Chicago won its second straight after losing four in a row and stayed a half game behind Milwaukee in the National League Central.

The loss went to Aaron Cook (8-7), who surrendered eight hits and five runs in six innings. He had won his previous three decisions.
