DENVER, Aug. 8 (UPI) -- Todd Helton homered twice Tuesday as Colorado notched two five-run innings en route to an 11-4 whipping of Milwaukee.

The floodgates opened in the sixth inning when Troy Tulowitzki's solo homer ended Chris Capuano's shutout bid and opened the floodgates.

Garrett Atkins and Ryan Spilborghs finished with three hits apiece for Colorado, winners in the first two games of the series.

Jason Hirsh (5-7) was the beneficiary of the onslaught after yielding three runs -- two earned -- on three hits with two walks and one strikeout over six frames.

Capuano (5-9) wound up allowing four runs on seven hits with three walks and three strikeouts. The southpaw has lost his last nine decisions after starting the season 5-0.

Milwaukee scored a run in the ninth on Geoff Jenkins' RBI double. Johnny Estrada's sacrifice fly in the second started the scoring, and Milwaukee added single runs in the fifth and sixth on sacrifice flies by Corey Hart and Bill Hall.
