Vikings' Asher Allen retires at age 24

RENO, Nev., Aug. 5 (UPI) -- Steve Flesch turned in an even-par 72 Sunday but still won the Reno-Tahoe Open by five shots.
Flesch finished the PGA Tour event at 15-under 273, well ahead of Charles Warren (71) and Kevin Stadler (70), who were at 10-under 278.
Rich Barcelo (68) and John Merrick (74) shared fourth place at 280.
Flesch began the final round with a five-shot lead and was never seriously threatened. It was his third win on the PGA Tour to go with New Orleans in 2003 and the Colonial in 2004.
The win earned Flesch $630,000 and guaranteed his spot in the field next week at the PGA Championship at Southern Hills.
