STOCKHOLM, Sweden, Aug. 4 (UPI) -- Second-seeded Agnieszka Radwanska of Poland and eighth-seeded Vera Dushevina of Russia advanced to the final at the Nordic Light Open tennis tournament.
Radwanska needed to win a pair of matches Saturday after rain halted quarterfinal play on Friday. She beat Denmark's Caroline Wozniacki, 6-4, 6-1, to start the day, then defeated Tsvetana Pironkova, 6-4, 6-3, in the semifinal round.
Pironkova beat France's Stephanie Cohen-Aloro in the quarterfinals, 6-7 (3-7), 7-6 (7-5), 6-1.
Dushevina, the lone quarterfinal winner Friday, ousted German Julia Goerges, 6-4, 5-7, 6-3, Saturday.
Goerges advanced to the semifinals after third-seeded Frenchwoman Emilie Loit had to retire two games into the first set because of a knee injury. Goerges was leading 2-0 at the time.
Both Radwanska and Dushevina seek their first WTA career title.
