
RENO, Nev., Aug. 3 (UPI) -- Steve Flesch maintained a two-shot lead over the onrushing Charles Warren Friday after two rounds of the Reno-Tahoe Open.
Flesch, who opened the tournament with a 63 at the Montreaux Golf and Country Club, added a 69 Friday as he seeks the third victory of his career on the PGA Tour.
Warren shot a 63, his lowest round on the circuit this year by three shots, to move into second place by himself at 134.
Jose Coceres was in third, four shots behind Flesch at 136, while Todd Fischer, Johnson Wagner, Brandon de Jonge and Steve Allan were all at 137.
Most of the tour's top stars are playing in the World Golf Championship Bridgestone Invitational in Ohio.
Warren's best finish this year has been a tie for sixth at the Bob Hope Classic, another tournament were low scores are the norm.
