Roddick reaches Legg Mason quarterfinals

WASHINGTON, Aug. 2 (UPI) -- Top-seeded Andy Roddick needed three sets Thursday to defeat Radek Stepanek and reach the quarterfinals of the Legg Mason Tennis Classic.

Roddick ousted Stepanek, 6-3, 1-6, 7-5, setting up a quarterfinal match against Hyung-Taik Lee.

Lee advanced with a 6-2, 2-6, 6-3 victory over Julien Benneteau. Second-seeded Tommy Haas also moved into the quarterfinals by downing Michael Russell, 6-3, 6-4.
