MILWAUKEE, Aug. 2 (UPI) -- Damion Easley had three hits Thursday, including a two-run, inside-the-park homer, as the New York Mets rolled over Milwaukee, 12-4.
The Brewers, who have slipped from first place in the NL Central, lost for the 10th time in 14 games and emotions bubbled to the surface during the game. Television cameras caught Manager Ned Yost and catcher Johnny Estrada yelling at each other in the dugout after the Mets had scored three times in the eighth inning to take an 8-3 lead.
Estrada stayed in the game.
Brian Lawrence (1-0) won his first game in the majors since Sept. 29, 2005. He gave up three runs and eight hits in five innings.
David Wright had four hits and scored three times for the Mets, winners of three out of four.
The loss went to Chris Capuano (5-8), who surrendered 10 hits and five runs in six innings. He began the season 5-0 and has not won since May 5.
