Vikings' Asher Allen retires at age 24
AMERSFOORT, Netherlands, July 21 (UPI) -- Austrian Werner Eschauer and Belgian Steve Darcis had semifinal victories Saturday and will meet Sunday in the Dutch Open tennis final.
Eschauer, who upset third seed Carlos Moya in the quarterfinals, beat Dutchman Robin Haase, 6-4, 6-4, to advance to his first-ever final.
Darcis came from behind to upset second seed Mikhail Youzhny, 4-6, 6-0, 7-5.
Haase had to complete his quarterfinal match-up against Frenchman Florent Serra on Saturday before playing Eschauer. That match was suspended in the first set because of rain Friday.
When play resumed Saturday, Haase battled from behind to beat Serra, 4-6, 7-5, 6-4.
