BASTAD, Sweden, July 13 (UPI) -- Second-seeded David Ferrer dropped just one game in winning Friday and leading three Spanish players into the semifinals of the clay-court Swedish Open.

Ferrer and countrymen fourth-seeded Carlos Moya and unseeded Nicolas Almagro all won quarterfinal matches Friday, furthering Spain's reputation as a clay-court power. The fourth semifinalist is fifth-seeded Italian Filippo Volandri.

Ferrer had no trouble in a 6-1, 6-0 rout of Gilles Simon and Moya dashed the hopes of the Swedish crowd by knocking out favorite son Robin Soderling 6-2, 6-4.

Almagro was the only quarterfinal winner at all pushed, taking a 7-5, 6-4 decision from Luis Horna, and Volandri eliminated Olivier Rochus 6-1, 6-2.

Saturday's semifinals have Ferrer scheduled to play Volandri and Moya playing Almagro. The finals in the $416,000 tournament are set for Sunday.
