HOUSTON, July 8 (UPI) -- Brian Ching scored and Houston goalie Pat Onstad made three saves Sunday as the Dynamo beat D.C. United, 1-0, in a Major League Soccer contest in Houston.
Houston -- unbeaten in eight games with seven wins during that span -- posted its fifth straight shutout.

The Dynamo are tied with FC Dallas for first place in the Western Conference.
The loss was just the second in 11 games for D.C., which dropped into second in the Eastern Conference, one point behind Red Bull New York.
Houston out-shot D.C., 4-3.
