MLB: Houston 8, N.Y. Mets 3

HOUSTON, July 8 (UPI) -- Chris Burke and Morgan Ensberg Sunday drove in two runs each as the Houston Astros beat the New York Mets, 8-3.

Ensberg hit a two-run single in the bottom of the first, and Burke smacked a two-run homer in the fourth.

Four Houston players had one RBI, four had two hits and Burke scored three times for the Astros, who went 6-4 before the All-Star break.

Winning pitcher Roy Oswalt (8-5) surrendered three earned runs and seven hits in seven innings, with a walk and five strikeouts.

New York's Carlos Beltran hit his 16th homer of the season, a two-run shot in the sixth, and Jose Reyes hit an RBI single in the seventh.

David Newhan had a run and two hits, and Reyes had two hits for the Mets, who have split their last four games.

Losing pitcher Dave Williams (0-1) yielded eight earned runs and 10 hits in 3 1/3 innings.
