
CINCINNATI, July 8 (UPI) -- Scott Hatteberg Sunday hit an RBI single in the bottom of the 11th inning, as the Cincinnati Reds beat Arizona, 4-3, completing a three-game sweep.
Hatteberg's second hit of the contest scored Edwin Encarnacion, who had stolen second base. Hatteberg also hit a leadoff solo homer in the bottom of the first, his eighth round tripper of the season.
Cincinnati's David Ross hit a solo homer in the second.
Hatteberg had four hits, and Ryan Freel had two for the Reds, who won five of six games before the All-Star break under interim manager Pete Mackanin.
The winner was Kirk Saarloos (1-4).
Arizona's Orlando Hudson hit an RBI single in the top of the ninth to tie the score, 3-3.
Chris B. Young hit a solo homer in the seventh, Miguel Montero had two hits and one RBI, while Montero and Jeff Salazar also had two hits each for the Diamondbacks, who have lost five in a row.
