MLS: Columbus 2, Real Salt Lake 0

COLUMBUS, Ohio, July 7 (UPI) -- Guillermo Schelotto and Eddie Gaven scored second half goals Saturday night as Columbus beat Real Salt Lake, 2-0, in an MLS contest at Columbus, Ohio.

Schelotto scored in the 76th minute, and Gaven scored four minutes later.

Columbus -- which is in fifth place in the Eastern Conference -- improved to 5-4-7 and extended its unbeaten streak to five games (3


2).

RSL, last in the West, sank to 1-7-6, and has not won since June 23 against D.C. United.

Columbus travels to Chivas USA July 14, and RSL is at Kansas City the same night.
