MLB: Cincinnati 7, San Francisco 3

CINCINNATI, July 3 (UPI) -- Barry Bonds hit his 751st homer Tuesday, but Brandon Phillips' grand slam helped new Manager Pete Mackanin and the Cincinnati Reds beat San Francisco 7-3.

The home run was Bonds' 17th of the season for the Giants, who have lost four of their last six games.

Alex Gonzalez, Edwin Encarnacion and Jeff Conine each drove in a run while Phillips scored three runs for the Reds.

The Reds fired Manager Jerry Narron following their sixth loss in eight games on Sunday. Mackanin was later named the team's interim manager.

Aaron Harang (9-2) got the win as he gave up just three runs on four hits with six walks and four strikeouts in six innings.

Barry Zito started for the Giants and allowed three runs on just two hits, but had six walks in five innings for the Giants. Kevin Correia (1-4) got the loss after serving up the grand slam.
