MLB: Baltimore 7, Chicago Sox 6

CHICAGO, July 2 (UPI) -- Kevin Millar hit an RBI single in the ninth inning Monday, lifting the Baltimore Orioles to a 7-6 victory over the Chicago White Sox.

The Orioles trailed 6-2 after seven innings but rallied for five runs in the final innings.

Millar was 3-for-5 with two RBI for the Orioles. Ramon Hernandez had an RBI double and Jay Payton hit a three-run triple.

Erik Bedard allowed six runs on five hits with five strikeouts and four walks over 5 2/3 innings for Baltimore. Rob Bell (1-1) pitched a perfect eighth for the win.

Chris Ray struck out three straight swinging in the bottom half for his 14th save of the season.

Jim Thome, Juan Uribe and Josh Fields each homered for the White Sox.
