BRIDGEVIEW, Ill., July 1 (UPI) -- Colorado and Chicago played to a scoreless draw Sunday in a Major League Soccer contest at Bridgeview, Ill.
In a contest in which both teams needed to get a win, the Rapids (4-7-4) snapped a five-game losing streak, while registering their first point since May 26.
The Fire (4-6-3) scored a point for the first time since June 3, when they beat Columbus, 3-2.
Chicago was able to generate some offense in the 15th minute when Ivan Guerrero beat a Rapids defender with a crossing pass from the left trying to connect with Brian Plotkin.
Instead, the pass flew over Plotkin's head and the opportunity was wasted.
Colorado's Willian Oliveira was denied in the 17th minute on one of four shots on goal for the Rapids.
The Fire took three shots on goal.
Colorado plays at Los Angeles Wednesday and Chicago travels to Houston Thursday.
