LOS ANGELES, July 1 (UPI) -- Rafael Furcal Sunday hit a solo homer and drove in two runs as the Los Angeles Dodgers blanked the San Diego Padres, 5-0.
Winner Chad Billingsley (5-0) combined with Jonathan Broxton and D.J. Houlton on a five-hit shutout.
Furcal also scored twice. Matt Kemp hit his second homer of the season, a solo blast in the fourth inning.
Furcal's homer in the seventh was his second this season. Kemp had two runs and two hits, while Juan Pierre and Russell Martin both hit RBI singles for the Dodgers, who had dropped the previous two games of the three-game set.
Hiram Bocachica had two of the five hits for the Padres, who have split their last 10 games.
Losing pitcher Justin Germano (5-2) yielded five earned runs and eight hits in 6 2/3 innings, with three walks and three strikeouts.
The Dodgers trail the NL West-leading Padres by one game.
