MLB: St. Louis 4, Cincinnati 2

CINCINNATI, June 29 (UPI) -- Juan Encarnacion had two hits and two RBI Friday night to help the St. Louis Cardinals beat Cincinnati, 4-2.

Encarnacion's RBI single in the top of the eighth drove home the eventual game-winning run, breaking a 2-2 tie.

Yadier Molina had two hits and one RBI; Chris Duncan hit an RBI single; while Albert Pujols had a run and three of the 12 hits for the Cardinals -- who had dropped three of their previous four games.

Winner Troy Percival (1-0) got his first victory in more than three seasons. Jason Isringhausen earned his 15th save.

Percival inked a free agent contract earlier this week after several seasons as a closer in Detroit.

Cincinnati's Josh Hamilton hit a two-run homer in the bottom of the sixth.

Scott Hatteberg and Edwin Encarnacion had two hits each for the Reds, who have lost four of five.

The losing pitcher was Marcus McBeth (2-2).
