MAGNY-COURS, France, June 29 (UPI) -- England's Simon Khan has a one-shot lead over Colin Montgomerie and Paul McGinley after 36 holes of the European Tour's French Open Golf Tournament in Paris.
Khan -- playing on a chilly, breezy Friday morning at the Le National golf course -- shot 4-under-par 67 to put his two-round score at 5-under 137.
The 35-year-old from Essex equaled his best one-day round of the season.
"(The round) was frustrating, so I decided to start using an old putter," Khan said. "I had been standing too far away from the ball, but now I am getting more over the ball and it feels more solid, especially in the wind."
Montgomerie (69) and McGinley (70) are 4-under 138, while four players came in at 3-under 139.
One of them is first-round co-leader Kyon Sullivan (74).
The other first-day co-leader, James Kamte (78), is tied for 28th place at 1-over 143.
