Furyk, Quigley, Perry share Buick lead

GRAND BLANC, Mich., June 29 (UPI) -- Kenny Perry, Jim Furyk and Brett Quigley shared the lead Friday at 10-under 134 after three rounds of the PGA's Buick Open at Grand Blanc., Mich.

Perry -- trying to regain the form he displayed prior to having knee surgery last year -- shot a 9-under 63 Friday despite suffering a bogey at the final hole at the Warwick Hills course.

Jim Furyk shot a 68 Friday and Quigley shot a 69.

The three leaders were out in front of a closely bunched leader board. No player who made the cut was more than seven shots off the pace.

"The scores are pretty tight," Furyk said. "The opportunity is there for us to fire low numbers."

First-round leader Rocco Mediate (71) was tied with Scott Verplank (69) and Brian Bateman (70) at 9-under 134. Steve Elkington (70), Lucas Glover (68) and Woody Austin (71) were at 136.

"The way it's going now, it will probably take 20-under to win," Quigley said. "So we've got to make a lot of birdies."

Perry recorded his first top-10 finish in two years last month at The Memorial, when he tied for third by shooting a final-round 63.
