MLB: San Diego 3, San Francisco 2 (10 inn)

SAN FRANCISCO, June 27 (UPI) -- Kevin Kouzmanoff's home run in the 10th inning Tuesday propelled the San Diego Padres to a 3-2 victory over the San Francisco Giants.

With one out in the 10th, Kouzmanoff hammered a fastball off Randy Messenger to center, just over the wall and out of the reach of a leaping Dave Roberts.

Trevor Hoffman blanked San Francisco in the bottom of the 10th for his 20th save.

San Diego starter David Wells tossed six innings of one-run ball. He gave up six hits while striking out three and walking three. Cla Meredith (3-5) got the win by retiring the only batter he faced in the ninth.

Mike Cameron and Khalil Greene each hit home runs for the Padres.

San Francisco starter Barry Zito pitched eight innings, allowing two runs on six hits. Messenger (1-2) took the loss.

Roberts had three hits and knocked in a run for the Giants. Bengie Molina also drove in a run for Giants.

San Francisco slugger Barry Bonds went 1-for-2 with three walks and remains at 749 career homers, six shy of Hank Aaron's all-time mark.
