MLB: San Diego 6, Boston 1

SAN DIEGO, June 24 (UPI) -- Khalil Green homered twice and Chris Young recorded 11 strikeouts Saturday night as the San Diego Padres beat Boston, 6-1.

Young (7-3) checked the Red Sox on one hit in seven scoreless innings. He was making his first start since he was hit with a five-game suspension -- which he is appealing -- for fighting with Chicago Cubs first baseman Derrek Lee last Saturday.

Josh Bard hit a two-run homer and drove in three overall for the Padres, who won for the first time in their last four games. Mike Cameron had two hits and scored twice.

Boston starter Tim Wakefield (7-8) allowed six runs and eight hits in 5 1/3 innings.

Mike Lowell drove in the lone run for the Red Sox, who managed just four hits as they lost for the first time in their last four games.
