MLB: Toronto 9, Colorado 8 (10 inn.)

TORONTO, June 22 (UPI) -- Curtis Thigpen scored the winning run on catcher Chris Iannetta's throwing error in the 10th inning Friday night as the Toronto Blue Jays edged Colorado, 9-8.

The Rockies took an 8-6 lead in the top of the 10th on Troy Tulowitzki's two-run homer, but the Blue Jays staged a one-out rally in the bottom half.

Toronto loaded the bases against Brian Fuentes (0-1), and John McDonald came through with a two-run single to tie it. After Matt Holliday threw late to the plate in an attempt to cut down the tying run, Iannetta attempted to throw out Thigpen at third -- but the throw sailed into left field as Thigpen came home to end the game.

Brian Wolfe (1-0) recorded his first major league victory, retiring one batter in the 10th.
