Rain disrupts tennis in Nottingham

NOTTINGHAM, England, June 21 (UPI) -- Ivo Karlovic won the only quarterfinal match completed Thursday as rain disrupted play at the Nottingham Open in Nottingham, England.

Karlovic out-lasted Juan Martin del Potro, 7-6 (12-10), 7-5, setting up a semifinal match against either Dmitry Tursunov or Guillermo Garcia-Lopez.

Garcia-Lopez was leading Tursunov, 6-4, 3-6, 2-1, when their quarterfinal match was suspended by rain.

Jonas Bjorkman won the opening game of the first set against Paul-Henri Mathieu before they had to abandon their match. The quarterfinal between defending champion Richard Gasquet and Arnaud Clement never got started.

Gasquet has played 12 matches at Nottingham and won them all.
