MLB: Atlanta 9, Boston 4

ATLANTA, June 18 (UPI) -- Brian McCann hit a three-run home run and drove in four runs Monday as the Atlanta Braves beat the Boston Red Sox 9-4.

Braves starter Chuck James (6-6) gave up five hits and two runs over 5 1/3 innings.

Scott Thorman was 2-for-3 with a two-run homer and scored two runs for the Braves, who have won three of their last four games. Edgar Renteria and Chipper Jones each had three hits and scored two runs for the Braves.

Curt Schilling (6-4) was the losing pitcher. He gave up six runs on 10 hits in 4 1/3 innings.

Coco Crisp went 4-for-4 with two home runs and J.D. Drew added a solo homer for the Red Sox.
