Vikings' Asher Allen retires at age 24

LUMBRES, France, June 17 (UPI) -- Carl Suneson got his first European Tour victory Sunday when he won the Open de Saint Omer at Lumbres, Francs, by three strokes.
Suneson went into the final round with a one-shot lead. His 2-under 69 Sunday gave him an 8-under 276.
Marcus Higley (71), who began the day in second place, tied for second with Francois Calmels (69) and Peter Fowler (70) at 5-under 279.
Mikael Lundberg had an even-par 71 and was fifth at 280. Michael Lorenzo-Vera (70) finished sixth at 281.
"I was lucky that no one was attacking me," said Suneson, a five-time Challenge Tour winner. "I didn't have to force any situation."
