MLS suspends Marshall for three games

NEW YORK, June 14 (UPI) -- Toronto FC defender Tyrone Marshall was suspended for three games by Major League Soccer for a rough tackle during a game last week.

Marshall, who was traded to Toronto by the Los Angeles Galaxy after the game Saturday, also was fined $1,500.

He was given a red card following a tackle on Dallas forward Kenny Cooper late in the Galaxy's game, which Dallas won 3-1. The rough play left Cooper with a broken leg and he is expected to miss two months of action.

MLS also said Dallas assistant coach Marco Ferruzzi, who was dismissed in the 90th minute of the same game by referee Jair Marrufo, was suspended for one game and fined $500. He was ejected for arguing with officials about the tackle on Cooper.
