MLB: St. Louis 7, Kansas City 3

KANSAS CITY, Mo., June 13 (UPI) -- Adam Wainwright carried a no-hitter into the sixth inning Wednesday and Albert Pujols drove in three runs in boosting St. Louis past Kansas City 7-3.

With two away in the sixth, St. Louis shortstop Aaron Mills booted a routine ground ball to keep the inning alive and Esteban German followed with a single for the first hit off Wainwright (5-5).

That was the only hit Wainwright allowed over eight innings. Kansas City scored three times in the ninth against two relievers.

St. Louis touched Odalis Perez (3-7) for seven runs and 10 hits in three innings.

Pujols singled in a run in the first and then had a two-run single in a five-run second.
