ST. PETERSBURG, Fla., June 13 (UPI) -- Adrian Gonzalez led an evening of big hits with a three-run homer Wednesday, as San Diego blasted Tampa Bay 9-0.

Khalil Greene contributed a three-run double, Kevin Kouzmanoff had a two-run homer and Terrmel Sledge added a solo blast. The Padres had lost their four previous games.

Jake Peavy (9-1) blanked the Devil Rays through seven innings, allowing two hits while striking out eight. Peavy, who is 5-0 in his last eight starts, has not dropped a decision since April 30.

Edwin Jackson fell to 0-8. He retired only one batter, giving up the homers by Gonzalez and Kouzmanoff in the first inning.

Tampa Bay had won three straight and five out of six.
