NASHVILLE, June 12 (UPI) -- Tennessee Titans cornerback Adam "Pacman" Jones has dropped his appeal of a one-year suspension by the National Football League.

Jones issued a statement Tuesday after meeting with NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell, saying, "I accept the discipline that has been imposed on me ... and I am committed to change my life and being suspended from the National Football League."

The NFL on April 10 announced the full-season suspension of Jones, 23, for violating of the league's personal conduct policy. Jones said he would appeal but told Goodell Tuesday that he had changed his mind.

During his two years as an NFL player, Jones has had several run-ins with police, including being linked to a shooting at a strip club in Las Vegas in February. He's been questioned by police 10 times and arrested five times since entering the league.

As part of his suspension, Jones must have no further "adverse involvement" with law enforcement and must complete required counseling, education and treatment.
