ATLANTA, June 10 (UPI) -- A wild pitch by Ryan Dempster allowed Willie Harris to score the go-ahead run in the eighth inning Sunday night as Atlanta rallied past the Chicago Cubs, 5-4.
Atlanta scored three times in the eighth to overcome a 4-2 deficit. The late comeback made a winner out of Chad Paronto (3-1), who worked 1 1/3 innings of scoreless relief.
Bob Wickman pitched the ninth for his 11th save.
Dempster (1-3), the sixth Chicago pitcher of the night, gave up a leadoff double to Jarrod Saltalamacchia in the eighth and a double by Scott Thorman delivered the first run of the inning.
Harris hit for Paronto and singled Thorman to third, after which Kelly Johnson was intentionally walked to load the bases.
Yunel Escobar then grounded into a double play, allowing Thorman to score the tying run. An intentional walk was issued to Brian McCann -- and when Dempster threw wildly on a 3-2 pitch to Andruw Jones, Harris raced in to give the Braves the lead.
