PHOENIX, June 8 (UPI) -- Omar Vizquel singled home Ray Durham with one out in the 11th inning Thursday night, giving the San Francisco Giants a 5-4 victory over Arizona.
Pedro Feliz hit a homer for San Francisco in the ninth to force extra innings, and the Giants were able to avoid a sweep at the hands of the Diamondbacks. It was San Francisco's first win in Phoenix in nine tries.
Vizquel's winning hit came off Brandon Medders (1-2), who entered the game in the 11th and retired only one batter.
Jack Taschner worked the ninth and 10th innings for the Giants and picked up a win in his first decision of the year.
Steve Kline struck out the side in the bottom of the 11th for his first save.
Barry Bonds, who did not start the previous two games because of shin splints, returned to the lineup and had two hits. However, he failed to homer and remains nine away from tying Hank Aaron's all-time record.
