Culpepper walks out at Dolphins' session

DAVIE, Fla., June 8 (UPI) -- Veteran quarterback Daunte Culpepper Friday left the Miami Dolphins' final mini-camp practice in Davie, Fla.

Before leaving, Culpepper did not participate in any drills.

He demanded a trade when the Dolphins acquired Trent Green in a deal with Kansas City earlier this week.

The Florida Sun-Sentinel reported the 6-foot-4 inch, 265-pounder was escorted to the team's locker room by Dolphins security director Stu Weinstein.

"I understand totally what's going on," Culpepper told the newspaper. "Instead of wasting time out there watching practice, I went into the weight room and got a little bit stronger. They're going to do what's best for them. Obviously, I'm going to do in my opinion what's best for me."

Culpepper was ineffective with the Dolphins last season, passing for 929 yards, two touchdowns and three interceptions.

Because of his lack of mobility against a pass rush, he was sacked 21 times in just four games.
