
PITTSBURGH, June 1 (UPI) -- Russell Martin hit a solo homer for the winning run Friday night as the Los Angeles Dodgers edged the Pittsburgh Pirates, 5-4.
Martin's blast in the top of the fourth inning broke a 4-4 tie.
Tony Abreu had two runs and two hits, including a two-run double, while Rafael Furcal and Andre Ethier both had one RBI for the Dodgers, who have won three of their last four games.
Winner Randy Wolf (7-3) gave up four earned runs and seven hits in five innings.
Closer Takashi Saito retired five batters to earn his 16th save.
Pittsburgh's Jason Bay hit a solo homer and an RBI double.
Chris Duffy hit a two-run triple, and Jose Bautista had two runs and two hits for the Pirates, who have lost three in a row.
Loser Zach Duke (2-6) yielded five earned runs and eight hits in six innings.
