Pirates' Bay is N.L. player of the week

NEW YORK, May 29 (UPI) -- Pittsburgh outfielder Jason Bay, who hit .500 for the week, was selected the National League Player of the week.

Bay collected hits in 10 of his 20 official at bats and scored a total of six runs. He also posted two consecutive three RBI games for the Pirates.

Also considered for weekly honor were: Pittsburgh's Chris Duffy, who hit .400; Arizona's Carlos Quentin, who had three home runs and 11 RBI; and Arizona's Mark Reynolds, who had two home runs and eight RBI.
